Ageism in Suburban British Columbia In 2005 - 2006, we were delighted to partner with Kwantlen University College, Office of Research, to conduct a pilot study on the occurrence of ageism in BC's lower mainland. Summary This pilot study asked older persons, 55+, associated with Lower Mainland Seniors and Community Centres to complete a twenty question survey developed by Dr. Erdman Palmore at Duke University. A smaller group completed responses to vignettes from Dr. Bill Bytheway's studies at the Open University in Great Britain. The results and analysis of our study was submitted to the Journal of Applied Gerontology. A provincial study is currently in progress. Click here Ageism
